U.S. Army T-34 Contract

Columbus, OH  (July, 2006) – Spirit Avionics has just successfully completed its’ first contract with the United States Army.  The project was managed from Fort Rucker Alabama, and the scope of the project was to retrofit three T-34C airplanes. The upgrades consisted of installing dual Sandel SN 3500 Electronic HSI's along with the Avidyne TAS 610 Active Traffic and WSI AV 200 datalink weather systems displayed on the SN 3500 units. Additionally, the existing VIR 30 Navigation receivers were upgraded to provide marker-beacon and Glideslope receiver functionality. The entire upgrade facilitated complete Category I ILS operational capability enhancement and greatly increased flight environment situational awareness.
