Avionics Upgrade Program for Two USAF DeHaviland Dash 8 Special Mission Aircraft

Spirit Avionics is proud to announce that they have been awarded an avionics upgrade program for two USAF DeHaviland Dash 8 special mission aircraft. The equipment to be installed in the aircraft is the Honeywell CAS 67A TCAS II system utilizing a TPU 67A TCAS II Processor, two IVA 81D Electronic IVSI units, two MST 67A Transponders, a Multi Function Radar Display (MFRD), an L-3 Communications Digital Flight Data Recorder and associated Flight Data Acquisition Unit and a Solid State Cockpit Voice Recorder.

The project will begin October 1st, 2007 in Panama City, FL at Tyndell Air Force Base. The project’s duration is approximately 2 months. Rick Ochs, President of Spirit Avionics stated, “This contract was awarded to Spirit Avionics Ltd. based on superior technical approach and not the lowest bid price.
